When I turned off the firewall, I was able to TNSPING successfully! Thank you! No when I try to run sqlplus "system/password AS SYSOPER" from VM2, I get a ora-12560 protocol adapter error. The ORACLE_SID variable is set on VM2 to "db8", which is the name of the database on VM1. You have the tnsnames for VM2, any idea why I can't connect to the database from VM2?
