That is very strange. sysinfo is a zipped tarball which can be found in program files beside the converter binaries. There are 2 of them - vmware-sysinfo-lin32.tar and vmware-sysinfo-lin64.tar for 32 and 64 bit Linux respectively. It gets copied to a temp directory on the source machine via ssh and extracted there. Check whether the tarball is not corrupt.
Another wild guess - is it possible your source machine is actually 32 bit? Converter checks that by issuing "uname -m".
