Re: Lync 2010 headsets do not work in Workstation v9

State of my support request by Vmware:

I have still no reasonable solution for my problem.

  • I have ordered a account on our Lync Server for VMware and provide it to Vmware for tests. Support has installed a Lync client and connect to our LyncServer.
  • Support has check audio quality and say, that the have no problem with this. I ask if they use USB-Headset - no answer on that...
  • Support can not make calls on demo account. I check it at home with my private Mac over internet - all work fine.

I have done any trys with changing the hardware compability from Workstation 9 to  Workstation8 and Workstation 6.5-7x.

With Workstation 6.5-7x my audio checks are for 90% successfully but if I make a call I hear my peer about 20 seconds after them i loose the audio signal - call is still active.

I have also move my virtual machine from my office Win7 to my private MacBook Air with Fusion5. I also use the same USB Headset an can make short calls. I have not make long tests, buts its much better.

Office:  Host Win7 64bit, i7, 4 Cores, 16GB RAM | Guest: 2 CPU 4 GB Memory

Private: MacBook Air, i5, 2 Cores, 4 GB RAM | Guest: 1 CPU 2GB Memory

For me I have enough played around. It looks like this combination VMware-Lync is not technically mature.

If VMware support does not find a solution or can reproduce my problem until 1.6.2013 I will ask them to close my ticket and install Lync on my host or use my mobile.
