Welcome to the Community - Yesit is possible since ESXi does support LACP but probably not in the way you expect. In the configuration of the virtual switch you can configure the NIC teaming method by default the teaming method is Route based on Virtual Port ID - so depending on the virtual port the VM or VMkernel port is assigned a physical NIC is selected for the traffic - so you can see with the default setting MAC address will only be presented to a single physical port - so for this setting LACP is not necessary.
With setting Route Based on IP Hash - every packet is examined and based on source and destination IP address a physical NIC is selected. So you can see with this setting the same MAC address can be received by multiple ports on the switch requiring LACP to be configured. If a VM is only communicating to a single IP address than all of that traffic will use single physical NIC -
